The only thing I'd add to this is that this is the real value of AI. It's not making people more productive, it's not making products people want to buy, and it's not adding value to basically anyone.

But the promise of AI is giving companies a narrative around why they're still positioned for success even as they lay off all their workers. If AI wasn't around, they'd still be laying off workers, but they'd have to find the next most-flattering excuse for why they're doing it, and they would potentially lose some shareholder value.
